Our History
Our founder George Schenk started selling insurance from his home in 1964. The first office opened on Depot Street in Friendship and later moved to its current location at 7 East Main Street. Several years later a second location was established in the upstairs of a Main Street building in Wellsville, and a few years later was moved to our current location at 23 East Pearl Street.
George Schenk Agency, Inc. changed to Schenk & Miles Agency, Inc. in 1984 when a partnership between George Schenk and Rolly Miles was formed. Rolly served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and is a Vietnam Veteran. When he returned home he worked as a draftsman but took the opportunity to apprentice with George in the insurance business. His love of people and outgoing personality helped grow the agency and their partnership prospered.
With Rolly’s retirement, Michelle Hall, a life-long resident of Friendship and an employee of the agency for over ten years, purchased Schenk & Miles Agency, Inc. on October 25, 2013. The staff is well established and has grown as a family over the years. Our mission statement is to provide competitive products, a well trained staff and upgraded technology to provide excellent customer service. We strive to maintain a prosperous agency with continued growth as we meet the insurance needs of our local communities. We provide a level of professionalism, integrity, care and compassion that our clients expect and deserve from a hometown insurance agency. These are not new concepts as both George Schenk and Rolly Miles have shared similar values and principals throughout the years.
